PhotoLift Screenshots
A familiar, standardised interface makes PhotoLift straightforward to use, as illustrated in the screenshot below. (Click on the image to view a full-sized version.)
A main preview window and small navigation pane allow the image to be view at various zoom levels. Highlight and shadow clipping indicators are provided, as is a brush preview ability.
Several parameters control the contrast effect which is applied to the image:
-
Local Contrast controls the amplification of detail in the affected area;
-
Brightness & Global Contrast control the large-scale tonality of the image, and allow higher local contrast to be applied without causing shadow or highlight clipping;
-
Texture, new in version 2.0, selects the coarseness of the local contrast affect to be changed and allows a range of visual textures;
-
Saturation boosts colour saturation in the affected area; and
-
Opacity allows the effect to partially blended with the existing image.
The PhotoLift effect can be applied selectively to different areas of the image using three familiar tools:
-
The fill tool applies the effect to the whole image;
-
The paint tool allows the effect to be selectively applied using a brush of variable size, hardness and opacity.
-
The erase tool allows removal of previous effects, and works with the opacity effect to make fine adjustments to the image.
That's all there is to it! The plug-in is easy to learn and use.
